Peace in our time - World War One has officially ended...

Looking over some news this evening, it turns out that the first world war has just officially ended - albeit just as a matter of Germany having finished paying off the painful reparations imposed on it at the treaty of Versailles (which was incidentally an indirect cause of the second world war) with a final small payment of only £59.5m!

And to think they once thought it would have been over by Christmas 1914...
